Ross Lovegrove talks about how he finds inspiration from organic form and nature. I myself have always thought about designing things relating to nature because of its natural perfection. It is nice to see well known designers sharing the same idea.
Ross reiterates that all modern design is going to end up being based around nature and having nature have its own input. An example of this is the bubble car. It's shape is designed like a water droplet as well as the polymer material used being see-through, almost bringing oneself as close to nature as possible. When it's not in use the car uses solar energy to recharge the batteries and at night the cars turn into street lamps.
Ross also shows us that even the smallest things of nature can be used. He does this with showing us a magnification of protein and how it has been used in his design. Also the enlargement with the fractal appearance which could be used as a seat to a chair, the sole of a shoe or a car.
Although Ross talks a lot about himself he is great at sending his message across, of designing 'fat-free' organic products using nature as the basis and inspiration.
I will be taking his message on-board and continue my inspiration with natural organic design.
